Getting my visa on arrival at the Bangui M'Poko border

I managed to secure my visa on arrival at Bangui M'Poko International Airport, but it definitely required patience and having exact change for the 75,000 CFA fee. Make sure your yellow fever certificate is easily accessible, as the officials checked mine three times before processing the stamp. It took about two hours to get through, so bring plenty of water and stay calm throughout the process.

Visa on arrival process at Douala International Airport for tourists

Just landed in Cameroon and the e-visa situation was a bit chaotic at the airport. I ended up paying 100,000 CFA francs for the processing fee, so definitely have the exact cash ready since the credit card machine was down again. It took about two hours to get through immigration, but the agents were actually quite friendly once I had all my hotel booking documents sorted.

Crossing Sani Pass into Lesotho: A truly unforgettable mountain adventure

Man, that climb up the Sani Pass is no joke, but my trusty 4x4 handled the gravel switchbacks like a total champ. Cleared the South African border at the bottom and the Lesotho post at the top without any hassle, just make sure you have your vehicle registration papers handy for the officers. The view from the top while sipping a beer at the highest pub in Africa made every bit of the bumpy ride worth it.

I recently crossed into Ethiopia at the Moyale border, and I have to warn anyone driving that the main road construction is still ongoing. Expect significant delays and very dusty conditions for about 40 kilometers north of the border, so check your tire pressure often.
